Post Doc

I am currently a Post Doctoral Research Associate in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Boston University. I joined the Center for Advanced Biotechnology in April 2010. I am collaborating with Dr. James Collins and other colleagues to lead innovative research in the lab to understand the deleterious effects of antibiotics on mammalian cells. The ultimate goal is to evaluate the long-term effects of antibiotics on mammalian cells and determine if prolonged usage would lead to mutagenesis in human beings using molecular biology techniques including RT2-PCR, genomic and mitochondrial DNA sequencing and microarray analysis on primary cells and in vivo mice studies.

Additionally, I am also involved in the design and implementation of novel cell culture based experiments to validate the predictions made by mathematical modeling and computational studies of combinatorial drug therapy for cancer treatment.
